Tom Shannon

Assistant Principal/MS Athletic Director

Mr. Shannon is new to Timnath this year and will be an Assistant Principal and the Middle School Athletic Director. He has had a few stops in education before coming to Timnath, and it started in Clovis Unified School District in Clovis, CA where he spent his first 10 years in education getting to open and be a part of building the culture at a brand new 7-12 middle/high school called Clovis North Educational Center. There he was an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach and Special Education Teacher. He completed his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2016 from Fresno State University and slid in to an Administrator role where he got to create a new program in the district called the Transition Program which helped support students and families that were experiencing challenges in life and at school. In the summer of 2017, he and his family moved from Fresno, CA to Fort Collins. He spent two years as a Dean of Students in District 27-J and most recently at Eaton High School as the Assistant Principal. Mr. Shannon has a passion for kids, a passion for sports, and a passion to make a positive impact in the lives of others. He believes that ALL students can learn, and that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and experience a sense of belonging. Outside of school, he loves to spend time with his family. He and his wife Tracy love to travel, go on hikes, go camping, and be adventurous with their two children Katelyn and Cole. The fall season is a favorite of his as he loves to watch the MLB postseason and College Football.  He is so excited to be a CUB, and is committed to helping all students and staff at Timnath reach their maximum potential in mind, body, and spirit.
