Middle School Athletics

Work Ethic  -    Sportsmanship   -   Competing with Character

We will offer a comprehensive middle school athletic program, like the other middle schools in PSD and will participate in the Poudre School District league.  Our PSD middle school district league consists of: Blevins, Boltz, Cache La Poudre (CLP), Kinard, Lesher, Lincoln, Preston, Webber, & Wellington.

Athletics at the middle school level are broadly available for 7th and 8th grade students, with a few opportunities for 6th graders interested in Cross Country, Golf, Tennis, Track, and Wrestling.

The focus at the middle school level will be around encouraging participation regardless of skill level, sport specific skill building, and sportsmanship;  creating a seamless transition to the expectations and culture of our high school athletic program.

TIMNATH ATHLETIC REGISTRATION & FEE INFORMATION

All middle school students participating in PSD Athletics must complete the PSD Middle School Sports Registration Process prior to their first day of practice.  Once students complete all three of the steps below, they will be issued a gold card from our athletic secretary, Stella Bohlender.  It is the responsibility of the student to bring this gold card to coaches for clearance to participate on the first day of practice/tryouts.  Students who come to practice without a gold card will not be permitted to participate until clearance is granted from the athletic office.  It is recommended that you begin to think about making appointments for your yearly medical/physical exam well in advance of the season, so you have plenty of time to obtain a doctor’s signature before the sport begins.

Follow the steps below to complete the athletic registration process and obtain a gold card:

1. Register Online with Sports Engine

  • While the PSD preference is to complete registration online, you can also download and print the hard copy of the registration forms and submit all paperwork to the main office in person.

  • For help creating an online account with Sports Engine, download the quick start guide.

2. Complete Required Annual Physical Exam Form

  • In addition to the online registration, a physical examination by a doctor and a hard copy of the physician signature form needs to be submitted in the office prior to participation.

  • All physicals are valid for 365 days and expire one year from the original date of completion.  This step must be completed annually.

  • Students cannot participate in any athletic camps or practices at Timnath until coaches have the medical release form signed by a doctor.

  • If you do not have access to a doctor and are in need of a sports physical, the Health and Wellness Center offers annual well-child exams and sports physicals.

3. Payment of the $140 Participation Fee (per sport)

  • Payment is due prior to the first day of tryouts.

  • Payments can be made online via SchoolPay or with checks made payable to Timnath Middle-High School.

  • For cut sports, refunds will be issued for students who do not make the final roster.

  • Do you qualify for waived fees?  You can submit a request for waivers here.  Once you have qualified for waived fees you must log in to ParentVUE, click on forms, and click permission to share under your child’s name. This allows us to waive the athletic fee.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are on waived fees you still must complete payment through SchoolPay.  To do this, log in to SchoolPay, select your child's sport, add that sport to the cart, and it will be processed at $0.00 dollars due.  This step is required to clear an athlete for participation for our records.
