FAQ: School Of Choice

School of Choice First-Round Application Period is Open from Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 to December 15th, 2023.

NEIGHBORHOOD STUDENTS - If you are a new or currently enrolled neighborhood student you do not need to submit a School Choice Application; your student's enrollment will roll over to the following year unless you notify the Registrar otherwise.

Reminders:

  • First-round school choice applications are processed by lottery to determine order within the application’s priority ranking.

  • A maximum of five schools for the application year may be selected for each student; a separate application to each school must be submitted.

  • All first-round school choice applications are based on space availability and eligibility requirements.

  • Waitlists are purged annually, so you must submit a new application each school year.

  • Parent/legal guardian has five business days to respond to a seat offer.

  • Once an application is submitted, parents/guardians can't review or make changes.

    • You must contact the school to make changes to a submitted application.

    • School selections cannot be changed once the lottery has been run.

Interested in a school tour before making your decision?

TMHS will be offering several information sessions in November and December to give families an opportunity to learn all about our school.  The timing of these sessions is designed to take place prior to the December 15th PSD School Choice deadline to give you a chance to learn about our school’s culture and programming to best inform an enrollment decision for the 2024-25 school year.

On November 29th from 6:00-8:30pm, we will be hosting an Open House for any incoming families who would like to see the building. There will be an information session for incoming 6th-8th grade families in the auditorium at 6:00pm, followed by a presentation for incoming 9th-12th grade families at 7:15pm.

For incoming 6th grade families, principal Jesse Morrill will be visiting each of our feeder elementary schools to speak specifically about the transition into 6th grade at TMHS.  These sessions will happen from 6:30-7:30pm on December 5th (Timnath Elementary), December 6th (Bethke Elementary), and December 7th (Bamford Elementary).  The presentation will be identical at all three, and families can choose whichever date works best for them.

We will also offer building tours on December 8th, 11th, and 13th. These tours are open to the public but are limited to 60 people each, so please sign up to reserve a spot.
