Enjoy Mrs. Decker’s “Staff Bio Acrostic Poem!”
M-- Mrs. Decker’s favorite sport is volleyball! She also enjoys watching many different sports.
R- Raised in Fort Collins and a graduate of Fort Collins High School. She attended the University of Montana, then moved back to Fort Collins to teach and raise her children in this great place.
S- Student-centered classroom. Joy believes the ones doing the talking and the work are the ones doing the learning! She wants students to feel like their classroom is inclusive where they can be themselves and also be a positive, contributing member of a community that learns together.

D-Deeply happy to be teaching at Timnath Middle High School and to be a part of this amazing community.
E- Educator at heart! Joy has taught elementary and middle school as well as courses for future teachers through Colorado State. She has been teaching for over 20 years in Poudre School District.
C- Continuously learning. Some of her favorite books she’s read recently are The Truth as Told by Mason Buttle by Leslie Connor and El Deafo by Cece Bell.
K- Kids! This is Joy’s WHY for why she enjoys teaching. She loves building positive relationships with students and seeing them grow and learn from the world around them. She also loves learning FROM them!
E- Exploring her interests and hobbies whenever she has time makes Joy happy! She loves to camp with her family, paddleboard, run and bike, READ, and play pinochle (her favorite card game.)
R- Rarely seen without a coffee mug in her hands.
