This is Teresa Ashton's 15th year in Poudre School District (PSD). Prior to her arrival in Fort Collins, she taught in Georgia and Alabama, working with students in Early Childhood through 12th grade. In PSD, Teresa has taught at Rice Elementary as an Integrated Services teacher, worked as a district literacy coach for students with disabilities, and served as an Assistant Director of Integrated Services and Assistant Director of Early Childhood.
In August of 2023, Teresa returned to teaching (her first love in education) here at Timnath Middle-High School. Teresa primarily works with students in 7th and 8th grades, serving across multiple curriculum settings to meet the needs of her students. She is passionate about her work, where every student can and will learn and where every student is successful, achieving their best outcomes.
Teresa has a Master's Degree in Special Education (Valdosta State University) and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Special Education Administration (University of Northern Colorado). Her licenses from the Colorado Department of Education include: Professional Teacher License, Professional Principal License and a Professional Administrator License.
Outside of school, Teresa enjoys reading, traveling, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends. With her husband, Tim, they own the local Firehouse Subs restaurants in Fort Collins and Loveland. Tim and Teresa have three grown children, one grandson, and their dog, Rhett!
