Andrea Frost

"Instrumental Music Educator"

Now in her 26th year of teaching, Andrea Frost brings energy, passion, and a love for learning to the band program at Timnath Middle-High School. With a Master’s of Music in Education from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, she has spent her career inspiring young musicians and shaping future leaders—one note at a time.

Andrea believes that band is more than just music; it’s a place where students learn life skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of creating something bigger than themselves. Her bands have consistently earned Superior ratings at festivals, including the Nordic Festival and Colorado Bandmasters Association Festivals. She has also led ensembles to perform at the prestigious Colorado Music Educators Association Conference and served as a clinician at the internationally renowned Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.

Beyond the classroom, Andrea is all about balance—finding happiness, staying active, and surrounding herself with people who inspire growth. Whether she’s hiking, doing yoga, writing poetry, or performing improv comedy, she embraces life with curiosity and humor. She also proudly plays clarinet with the Fort Collins Wind Symphony and enjoyed serving six years with the Colorado Bandmasters Association as the Northern Representative.

Andrea’s dedication to education extends beyond the podium. She has been featured in SBO Magazine, published in The Instrumentalist, and even earned a professional development trip to Calgary for SMART technologies. She’s conducted numerous honor bands across Colorado and previously taught in Alabama and the Chicago area. She’s also been known to step onto the athletic field, coaching middle school track and even football!

Andrea currently resides in Fort Collins, where she continues to teach, learn, and take on new adventures—both in and out of the band room.
