My name is Dave Lerner and I love teaching life science and science adventures to our middle school students at Timnath Middle High School! 

Before joining the TMHS team I was a scientific researcher at the University of Chicago, where I studied the formation of unique organ shapes during development.  I was able to discover things that no one else knew – how cool! 

I loved conducting research, but after completing my PhD I was drawn to teaching and working with students, sharing my passion for science and biological research.  I previously taught in Chicago Public Schools, Denver Public Schools, and also worked with college students at the University of Chicago. 

I am excited for this year, and to explore biological questions with our TMHS students!
