Sierra Bitsie (she/her/hers) has taught Social Studies at TMHS for three years. She currently teaches World Geography, Cub Vision, and 7th grade Social Studies. Sierra also serves as the Title VI Program Specialist for the district, which supports Native and Indigenous PSD students. Previously, Sierra worked as a Graduate Assistant for Asian Pacific American Student Services and Native American Student Services at the University of Northern Colorado. She also taught fourth grade for six years at Linton Elementary School.
Sierra is a Colorado native and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. She went to the University of Northern Colorado for her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Master's degree in Literacy, and her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. She also has a graduate certificate in Native American Studies from Montana State University.
During her free time, Sierra loves gardening and cooking with her husband, who is also an educator in Poudre School District. She has two adorable dogs who love going on walks, playing frisbee, and snuggling on the couch. She is looking forward to getting to know her students this year!
