Shelley Durkin is entering her 15th year of teaching, her third at TMHS. She is a Fort Collins native who moved to Timnath a few years ago with her family: three kids, 2 chihuahua children, and an amazing husband.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Art Education, with an emphasis in painting, through Colorado State University, Go Rams! She was lucky enough to study abroad in Italy during college, soaking up the stunning art and architecture and eating all the glorious food. She recently earned her Master's Degree in Curriculum Design.
Mrs. Durkin's hobbies include all sorts of arts and crafts, spending time drawing and painting (at least before kids). She and her family enjoy watching and playing all sports from football to golf to corn hole, and they love going on hikes and being in nature's wonder.
Shelley Durkin loves teaching because kids are the key to the future. It's amazing her how young minds can be so powerful. She loves watching kids solve problems, design, create, and spark excitement through the learning process driving her daily to be a better teacher.
